Everyone should have a Last Will and Testament, Healthcare Directive, and other estate planning documents. If you don’t have estate planning documents, or the documents you do have were drafted a number of years ago, you need to new estate planning documents.
Estate planning is fairly inexpensive, especially when compared with the expense your estate/family will have to incur when they probate your estate and have to make all of the decisions with lawyers and help from the Court, when you could have instead just made things easy by resolving those issues via your estate planning documents (e.g. who should be your estate executor and heirs, burial instructions, healthcare decisions, and power of attorney over your financial or medical affairs).
